Personal Injury Claims Handlers/Paralegals: Edinburgh 

Gildeas is a fast paced, independent and modern law firm with offices in central Glasgow and Edinburgh. We specialise in pursuer personal injury. Due to expansion of our Edinburgh office, we are currently recruiting for the following position:

Personal Injury Claims Handlers/Paralegals: Edinburgh 

About the role:

At Gildeas, we offer an exciting and challenging environment to build a future career in law. You will be fully supervised and supported throughout with the opportunity for learning and feedback encouraged. As a Claims Handler, expect that:

  • You will gradually build up your own file list and have your own clients.
  • You will learn how to conduct claims from start to finish, including investigating claims and taking statements.
  • You will assist in arranging rehabilitation for injured clients.
  • You will learn how to obtain expert reports and correspond with insurance companies, solicitors, and courts.
  • You will learn how to negotiate settlements or, if required, to assist our litigation team in progressing cases through the court process.
  • You will have the opportunity to develop your customer care skills and develop rapport with clients/witnesses.  

The positions are full time and based in our Edinburgh office.
The role is office-based, full time. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm. Salary will be dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Disclosure Scotland certificate. 

There is scope to become a qualified Law Society accredited paralegal. This can be discussed at interview. For more information, visit: Law Society.

About you:

The successful candidate will be interested in advocacy, claims and court work. You should be able to work as an individual and as part of a team.

Communication with injured clients is integral to the role. The ideal candidate will value the client experience and be an effective communicator.

Experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Full training can be provided to suitable candidates interested in a change of career direction.
