Growth in private referrals fuels need for bigger team.

Gildeas Solicitors has launched a recruitment drive to increase its headcount by around 20% to support its growing personal injury business.

The firm, which has offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, is strengthening its existing 70-strong team with 15 new professionals at various levels.

The majority of the roles will be based in Edinburgh and may lead to new premises as the firm outgrows its office on Melville Street.

Gildeas has already appointed eight members of staff across both offices, from trainees to solicitors and claim handlers.

The increase in headcount reflects ongoing growth. Last year, Gildeas’ Edinburgh office reported a £1.3 million increase in client damages and this summer, the firm recorded its busiest ever month in July, with a 22% increase in private referrals for personal injury cases compared to the same month in 2016.

Sanjeev Bali, Director at Gildeas said:

“We have been experiencing ongoing growth over the last 12 to 18 months and we need to strengthen our team with additional resource and skills to help us maintain this upward trend.

“We have made a number of strategic changes to our business, including shaping a more tailored and personal approach to clients who have sustained serious and life-changing injuries, as well as stronger leadership across both our offices.

“We have added to the team in the last two years to help us manage continued growth and this latest recruitment drive will boost our team significantly, ensuring we can meet the demand from growing private referrals, as well as our insurer contracts.”
