Traineeships Glasgow & Edinburgh: Personal Injury 2024

At Gildeas, we offer an exciting and challenging traineeship that will provide a solid base to
build a future career in law. You will be fully supervised and supported throughout your
traineeship. You will gradually build up your own file list and have your own clients as well as
assisting senior colleagues on larger cases. You will learn how to: conduct claims from start
to finish, including investigating liability and intimating claims; take statements from witnesses;
instruct and liaise with expert witnesses; prepare cases for litigation; correspond with
insurance companies/solicitors/courts; how to negotiate settlements or, if required, to present
cases in court. You will have the opportunity to develop your customer care skills and develop
rapport with clients/witnesses as you progress files. The successful candidate will be
interested in advocacy, value customer experience, be able to work as an individual and as
part of a team and be an effective communicator. The positions are full time and based in our
Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, commencing 2024.
